Moses ben Jacob Cordovero AKA RaMak aka משה קורדובירו‎

Spain, Israel 1522 – 1570

Comments: Major Qabalist; Sephirot; Zohar ; Rabbi; 16th-century Safed, Israel, traveled all over; Qabalist; It may have been he owes much of his actual teachings to his Master, Rabbi Moses de Leon; the Hidden NAME of God was too powerful and subject to misuse to be Named in the Torah, but reveals itself to the Seeker who unravels the numerical mysteries of the NAME. Instead, the Tetragram, Yod Heh Vau Heh, is a SUBSTITUTE NAME, and the shape of the Letters the secret Shapes of God. By meditating on the inner vision of the letters in fire, we can unite with God and get a glimpse of things beyond mortal vision; The Names address different aspects of the Entire, incomprehensible Godhead by narrowing OUR point of view, like viewing the sun through a pinhole camera in a mile carton. Otherwise, we just become Blinded By The LIGHT; detailed the cosmology of the Zohar ; His idea of Tikkun was a more cosmic process, in which individuals played a small roll, as opposed to Isaac Luria, who taught individuals were the key to returning God to the World through their actions; metaphysical Qabalah , rather than practical/ active/ magical QBLH ; “Cordoverian Cabbalah” vs. “Lurianic Kabbalah”, the Ari starts off as a student but establishes his own variation on the QBLH teachings from Cordovero and Moses de Leon; Expected the Messiah between 1540-1582; The Written Torah's teachings are hidden within the "garment" of it's words and exoteric meaning;

Quotes: “we all proceed from Him, and are comprised in Him; that our life is interwoven with His; that He is the existence of all beings; that the inferior beings, such as vegetables and animals, which serve us as nourishment, are not outside of Him; in short, he will discover that all is one revolving wheel, which ascends and descends—all is one, and nothing is separated from Him" ; "The man whom his Creator has bestowed with the grace of entering the innerness of occult lore and knows and understands that by reciting Barekh `Aleinu and Refa’enu the intention is to draw down the blessing and the influx by each and every blessing to a certain sefirah, and the blessing of Refa’enu to a certain sefirah, as it is known to us. Behold, this man is worshiping the Holy One, blessed be He and his Shekhinah, as a son and as a servant standing before his master, by means of a perfect worship, out of love, without deriving any benefit or reward because of that worship ...because the wise man by the quality of his [mystical] intention when he intends during his prayer, his soul will be elevated by his [spiritual] arousal from one degree to another, from one entity to another until she arrives and is welcome and comes in the presence of the Creator, and cleaves to her source, to the source of life; and then a great influx will be emanated upon her from there, and he will become a vessel [keli] and a place and foundation for [that] influx, and from him it [the influx] will be distributed to all the world as it is written in the Zohar, pericope Terumah, until the Shekhinah will cleave to him... and you will be a seat to Her and [then] the influx will descend onto you...because you are in lieu of the great pipe (Middle Pillar or Column -C2.0)instead of the Tzaddiq, the foundation of the world" ; ""The knowledge of the Creator is different from that of the creature, since in the case of the latter, knowledge and the thing known are distinct, thus leading to subjects which are again separate from him. This is described by the three expressions—cogitation, the cogitator and the cogitated object " (very much like Abraham Abulafia in The Divorce of the NAMEs ; "Wine cannot stay except in a jar" (and the Spirit of Torah is made available by it's outer words, or garment).
