Comments: practically destroyed the Golden Dawn, as both S.L. MacGregor Mathers and his wife Moina Mathers were taken in by the Horos fraud in Paris, lent them inner GD documents, which they then used to set up their "Purity League" . Charges of rape, buggery (Theodore) and fraud (Laura) resulted in prison terms 0f 15 and 7 years, respectively. The publicity convinced many British adepts to remove the Mathers from their position of authority, and form new Lodges;
